Trinity–Spadina is a federal and provincial electoral district in Ontario, Canada, that has been represented in the Canadian House of Commons since 1988, and in the Legislative Assembly of Ontario since 1999.
It generally encompasses the western portion of downtown Toronto. In the 2001 Canadian census, the riding had 106,094 people of which 74,409 were eligible to vote.
The current federal Member of Parliament (MP) is Olivia Chow 鄒至蕙 of the New Democratic Party. She defeated Tony Ianno of the Liberal Party of Canada in the January 23, 2006 election. The current Member of Provincial Parliament (MPP) is Rosario Marchese of the Ontario New Democratic Party, who has been in office since 1990. The riding has long been a battle ground between the NDP and the Liberals, with the NDP recently winning both provincially and federally.
Municipally, it is divided into two wards; Ward 19 is represented by Deputy Mayor Joe Pantalone, and Ward 20 is represented by Adam Vaughan. On January 17, 2006, The Toronto East York Community Council recommended that City Council fill the vacancy with former city councillor Martin Silva.
Major landmarks within the riding include: the University of Toronto, the CN Tower, Rogers Centre (formerly Skydome), the Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Kensington Market, Chinatown, Christie Pits, Trinity Bellwoods Park and Palmerston Boulevard.
The riding is one of the most ethnically diverse in Canada containing the heart of Toronto's Chinatown, Koreatown, Little Italy, and Little Portugal. The northern section of the riding is the trendy Annex district, while the eastern edge contains the University of Toronto and thousands of students. The riding has been the most left-leaning in Toronto and has voted NDP provincially for a number of years.
【維基百科】Olivia Chow (traditional Chinese: 鄒至蕙; born March 24, 1957, in Hong Kong) is a New Democratic Party Member of Parliament and former city councillor (1991–2005) in Toronto. Chow immigrated to Canada with her family in 1970 at the age of 13. She won the Trinity—Spadina riding for the New Democratic Party on January 23, 2006, becoming a member of the Canadian House of Commons. Chow is married to NDP leader Jack Layton. She is fluent in Cantonese and English.
Olivia Chow was elected to Toronto city council in 1991 in Ward 20 (Ward 24 from 1997–2006) in the riding of Trinity—Spadina. Chow was re-elected several times to city council by wide margins.

Strange, said one of my aides, that the man with the sanest question in Hong Kong is in a mental hospital.”Chris Patten Financial Times

My impression of the Hon. Olivia Chow 鄒至蕙 is largely based on articles and reports from newspaper, TV, magazines and other media. Apparently she is quite out-spoken on issues pertaining to diversity and multi-culturalism. However, as a federal politician, it is difficult for her to be seen as "interfering" with the judicial system by commenting on a case that is still in front of the court.
From my own perspective, the worst outcome is to turn the incident into a racial confrontation btwn two ethnic minorities. That would be a loss-loss-loss-loss---- scenario for all parties concerned,

hari big brother, thank you for your comments.
I was kind of expected you would point out that a federal MP may not be appropriate to interfere with the municipal govt business.
I truly believed the Police Station 52 Div also sharing your same concept that from their perspective it was just the conflict between two monority ethnic groups. It may be wisest for them not to stir up racial issues and let it died down by itself.
As you pointed out Olivia is quite an out-spoken person, so what and who keep or kept her mouth shut in these two incidents?
Politics,I would say.
Sigh!
