“During a visit to a mental hospital before I left Hong Kong, a patient politely asked me how a country that prided itself on being the oldest democracy in the world had come to be handing over his city to another country with a very different system of government, without either consulting the citizens or giving them the prospect of democracy to safeguard their future. Strange, said one of my aides, that the man with the sanest question in Hong Kong is in a mental hospital.”Chris Patten Financial Times

Believe it or NOT

Space: Thank you for the three referenced articles which I read. Indeed, you have a long relationship with books!!! I too have a habit of buying books during vacations. The only thing that stops me is the weight (and as you pointed out, possible excess luggage charge by airlines).

Do you belong to any local book-reading clubs? It is quite a popular hobby around here. But of course, we also have long winter days in Canada :)

Thank you also for sharing the easy-listening song. It has a real catchy tune and is both funny and sad (at the end, when Rickie gave up and drove home). Well, to quote an over-used line: Women are from Venus and men from Mars.

Hari Big Brother,
No, I did not join any book reading society. As for Book-Lovers, I think 風信子 and Macy姐 are TRUE representative of book lovers 她們才是表表者。

I wrote this blog article under the inspiration of your Part I and II "First Kiss 初吻"。Looking back my earlier years,I didn't have or shall I say I had neither a page nor a line about relationship with the opposite gender With no regret I would say "I did it my way".

May I also redirect you to one of my archive postings.

Space: I remember watching the video "Love is not for me" posted with your previous article. I watched it again with the same mixed feeling. He did it. He won. But did he have second thoughts at the end?

I agree with you it's a very individual decision. And, there is no right or wrong answer.

hari big brother,
My Way

And now, the end is near;
And so I face the final curtain.
My friend, I'll say it clear,
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain.

I've lived a life that's full.
I've traveled each and ev'ry highway;
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Regrets, I've had a few;
But then again, too few to mention.
I did what I had to do
And saw it through without exemption

I planned each charted course;
Each careful step along the byway,
But more, much more than this,
I did it my way.

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew.
But through it all, when there was doubt,
I ate it up and spit it out.
I faced it all and I stood tall;
And did it my way.

I've loved, I've laughed and cried.
I've had my fill; my share of losing.
And now, as tears subside,
I find it all so amusing.

To think I did all that;
And may I say - not in a shy way,
"No, oh no not me,
I did it my way".

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught.
To say the things he truly feels;
And not the words of one who kneels.
The record shows I took the blows -
And did it my way!

No regret!
