2012 倫敦奧運，美國派出的籃球《夢幻隊》決選結果已經出爐了：

The US team clinched a berth in the 2012 Olympics in London by winning the 2010 World Championship. The 2012 teams consists of returning 2008 Olympic gold medal winners small forwards LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony, point guards Chris Paul and Deron Williams, and shooting guard Kobe Bryant.

It also includes 2010 World Championship winners including small forward Kevin Durant, power forward Kevin Love, center Tyson Chandler, and point guard Russell Westbrook.

The final three roster spots were claimed by power forward Blake Griffin, small forward Andre Iguodala, and shooting guard James Harden; they beat out shooting guard Eric Gordon, small forward Rudy Gay and rookie center Anthony Davis, the number one overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft (whom sustained an ankle injury and did not participate in the final scrimmages). Forward Lamar Odom dropped out of consideration in July before the start of training camp.

Some of the initial 20 finalists, which were announced in January 2012, withdrew due to injury including power forwards Chris Bosh (abdomen) and LaMarcus Aldridge, point guards Derrick Rose (ACL) and Chauncey Billups, shooting guard Dwyane Wade (knee), and center Dwight Howard (back surgery). Harden and Davis were added as replacements. Center Andrew Bynum declined an invitation to be added as a finalist.

2008年北京奧運，美國隊得到了冠軍，四年之後，美國隊如無意外，都應該穩得冠軍。可以威脅到美國隊的西班牙，阿根廷，克羅地亞等等。但誰能忘記 。。。。。


1992年的奧運是美國首次可以派遣 NBA 的職業球星上陣，美國組織了前所未有強大實力的男子隊陣容，而且是因為第一次 NBA職業球員可以參加奧運，大部份球星都樂於參與。


計有：Michael Jordan 老飛俠米高佐敦, Scottie Pippen 佐敦的最佳拍檔 帕賓, John Stockton 神級控球後衛 史托頓, Karl Malone 史托頓的最佳拍檔 卡爾馬龍, Magic Johnson 魔術手 莊遜, Larry Bird 小鳥 布特, Patrick Ewing 硬漢 艾榮, Chris Mullin 穆年, David Robinson 上將 羅賓遜, Charles Barkley 惡人 巴克利, Clyde Drexler 德士拿, and the sole amatuer player Christian Laettner from DUKE University 的 李奕拿。而總教練 head coach 是 Chuck Daly 戴利。


【NBA official Site】Celebration of the 20th anniversary of 1992's USA Basketball team (aka The Dream Team), which is considered one of the greatest sports teams ever assembled, the NBA put together a documentary telling the story.

Titled "The Dream Team," the special documentary for NBA TV tells the iconic team's story from inception to end. From when and how the team was selected, to the controversy over the players selected and those who weren't, to the rivalry amongst each other, to the impact the unit made on the sport around the world.

The players on the team included: Michael Jordan, Scottie Pippen, John Stockton, Karl Malone, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Patrick Ewing, Chris Mullin, David Robinson, Charles Barkley, Clyde Drexler, and the sole amatuer player Christian Laettner (of Duke University).

整個賽事 tournament 打足五場分組賽，和三場淘汰賽，連贏八場。又有 惡人巴克利 因不忿被侵犯還手打肘，更有出神入化的射球和入樽，眼花繚亂好好好看。

Michael Jordan, Patrick Ewing and Chris Mullin, who were members of the 1984 Olympic team, became the first players to win two gold medals in men's basketball.

Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen, who played for the Chicago Bulls, became the first players to win both NBA championship and Olympic Gold medal in the same year.


今屆 勒邦占士 是唯一 NBA總冠軍 熱火，支撐到最後都肯打 Olympic，Bosh 和 Wade 俱稱傷退隊，做成 James 是唯一可以同年獲得 NBA 總冠軍，和應該十拿九穩的 Olympic Basketball men's championship 的球員矣！ 比較意外是 Kobe，他是全隊最老的 33歲，還肯落場玩玩！

In the 2012 London Olympics, The United States Basketball team won the gold medal against Spain with Kevin Durant scoring 30 points in the game.

In the preliminary round, they beat Nigeria 156–73, breaking the Olympic record for points scored by one team. On August 10th, 2012, team USA beat Argentina 109-83 to advance to the gold medal game, Sunday against Spain, where they won their second straight gold medal.

A one-point game at the half, Team USA emerged victorious by a score of 107-100, with LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and Kevin Durant serving as the three leading scorers.

This is the final Olympic games for Coach Krzyzewski and for Bryant. By winning the gold medal, the USA automatically qualified for the 2014 FIBA World Cup.
