91st PGA Champion 2009

彭定康 金融時報 “During a visit to a mental hospital before I left Hong Kong, a patient politely asked me how a country that prided itself on being the oldest democracy in the world had come to be handing over his city to another country with a very different system of government, without either consulting the citizens or giving them the prospect of democracy to safeguard their future. Strange, said one of my aides, that the man with the sanest question in Hong Kong is in a mental hospital.”Chris Patten Financial Times

I watched the game on TV yesterday. Wood's performance was affected by his knee surgery. At least that's what the commentators said. It is nice to see a new star was born. I am happy for whoever won. Yang cried. Did you see? Very exciting game indeed.
Exile, I didn't watch the fourth and final day of the tournament on TV in Hong Kong, becoz it was our Monday morning here.
However, I viewed several video segments from the PGA official web site, which I have also built the Links above in "伸延閱覽".
You were lucky Exile, sometimes the first snd second leaders were in different group that lessened the excitement.
I always root for the underdog though!
Yeah, it's big news here cuz Tiger Wood is big name.

I think sport is not just abt winning international tournaments. It is also abt encouraging younger people to try different non-traditional sport. I hate to tell young Chinese that they can only play ping pong. I am an avid downhill and cross-country skier and not a bad curler either. So, I don't think we should short-change our youths with restrictions.

Hari Big Brother, Indeed it was big news everywhere and esp. those keeping an eye of GoLF tournaments, which has grown their popularity at HK.
As for your comment about SPORT, it holds true only when someone playing sport as an hobby or a game of FUN.
While for those who took it as their career there were difference. i.e. as a professional player ~ a main JOB to earn his/ her living and to support his or her family.
I guess Hari Big Brother, you are/were an amateur sportman in downhill, cross-country skiing and curling on ice, have not yet turned professional !

Ha!!Ha !!! I have no intention of being a pro and will never be one in this life time. For me, sport is for fun :)
I appreciate your visits to my blog too !!!
Hari 兄:eh! amateur is good in some sense, however going back several decades while the Olympics still insisted on amateur basis many so called amateur sportsmen/ sportswomen were living in "Hung goat head sold dog meat" basis.
There were no FUN at all being aamateur! and always feared of being unfolded by the organizers.
That situation esp common for Russians and the Eastern European countries under the then WARSAW treaty countries.
>> ... "Hung goat head sold dog meat"
Yes, I remember many years back, the USSR and Eastern Block countries were sending military "amateurs" to the Olympic Games to compete.
