早晨除了看讀本港的報章新聞撮要，也關心國際軍事外交財經事務，尚有時間會上網看看《加東明報》。明報在多倫多市的雪柏大道夾冰莉路以南，一條橫街 Huntingwood Drive 設有社址。明報是旅加港人，尤其是年輕一輩新移民多讀的華文報章，老一輩老移民老華僑則多買星島日報。


【加東明報】一隻血淋淋人腳周二郵寄到加拿大執政保守黨位於渥太華的總部，警方正進行調查。

總部的接待員打開郵包時，發現血跡和傳出惡臭，於是報警。渥太華警方發表聲明說，「核生化事故小組和緊急行動組立即到現場，對郵包作進一步檢查後，認為盒內可能是一隻人腳。」

當局其後對該盒進行X光檢查，然後移交給地方驗屍官，已確認郵包內確實是一隻人腳。渥太華警方正對該地區的郵局職員、停屍間和醫院進行調查。

【CBC News】Ottawa police say they have found a second body part in a package as they investigate the delivery of a human foot to the Conservative Party of Canada's headquarters in downtown Ottawa.

Police would not say what the body part was, nor where it was found, though they did say it was not found at the Conservative Party offices on 130 Albert St. where the foot was sent.

Media reports said the second package, containing a human hand, was not addressed to the Tory headquarters. Police said the major crime unit continues to investigate.

Police were called to the building at 11:20 a.m. ET after a suspicious package was delivered there. Police called for the hazardous materials unit after they noticed what appeared to be blood on the package.

The Hazmat Unit and Emergency Operations Section inspected the package and determined that there was possibly a human foot in the box. A coroner later confirmed it was a human foot.

Police confirmed late Tuesday that a second body part was found, hours after the coroner concluded that the first package “did contain a human foot.”

It was unclear what body part was in the second package or where it was found. Police wouldn’t confirm reports it was discovered at a Canada Post depot in downtown Ottawa. Canada Post refused to answer any questions late Tuesday, but said they were co-operating with police.

The gruesome sealed package sent to the Conservative Party on Tuesday morning was unknowingly accepted by a receptionist at the headquarters’ 12th-floor suite of offices, said Ottawa police Sgt. Steve Hodgson.

Hodgson said the package was “addressed to the Conservative Party of Canada, not to a person.”

The receptionist began to open the package before discovering “a substance that was deemed suspicious” and called police, he said.

The Ottawa police force, the coroner’s office and the RCMP attended the Albert Street offices, three blocks south of Parliament Hill, where the bizarre drama unfolded.

They temporarily sealed off the floor, and called in the hazardous materials team that deals with chemical or biological hazards, said Hodgson. The team X-rayed the package when they arrived on the site, and turned the investigation over to the major crimes unit.

In a news release, the Ottawa police acknowledged the grim find.

“Upon arrival, officers noted that the (box) package possibly had blood stains on it. The Hazmat Unit and Emergency Operations Section were called and upon further inspection of the package it was determined that there was possibly a human foot in the box,” the release said.

Staffers were asked to remain in the Conservative party offices for much of the afternoon, and later left under police escort.

“I don’t know anything, I can’t say anything,” said senior party staffer Colin McSweeney as he left headquarters late Tuesday.

No one else from the Conservative Party would speak to reporters. Party spokesman Fred DeLorey declined to talk but emailed a terse statement, referring all calls to police: “A suspicious package was sent to our office. The Ottawa police are investigating.”

A coroner who left the building said the regional coroner’s office in Kingston would handle the case.

At the request of building property managers, police asked reporters to leave. Conservative MP Brad Trost came to the offices for a previously scheduled meeting, but was told by police to come back at another time.

“It’s just sickening,” he said. “If someone actually did send something in the mail, that’s just abhorrent. I hope it has nothing to do with anything with politics. Hopefully it’s just somebody’s idea of a stupid joke.”

The news took another strange turn when reports from Montreal said police there were investigating the discovery of a dismembered body among a pile of garbage. A torso was apparently found inside a suitcase, but neither a head, arms or legs were anywhere nearby.

Police could not say whether there was any link between the Ottawa and Montreal events.

In Ottawa, the Conservative Party receptionist who received the package was “fine,” and hadn’t actually seen the contents, Hodgson said.

“People are trained in offices if they see something suspicious not to go any further, to leave it,” he said.



暫時仍然不知道動機，不過郵包是經 Canada Post 郵寄到保守黨的總部，令人先聯想到是有政治議題關連。

【CP24】In this chain of depraved events orchestrated by a disturbed mind, it turns out that the severed human foot delivered to Tory headquarters was only the latest link.

Before that, someone repeatedly stabbed a young man with an ice pick. While both killer and victim lay naked, he dismembered the corpse and committed sexual and cannibalistic acts on it.

That same person apparently videotaped the gory scene and posted it on the Internet. The video is now being reviewed by Montreal police, who are investigating a case that has shocked the country.

A man by the name of Luka Rocco Magnotta is wanted in connection with a three-step crime: a killing, a dismemberment and a mailing of body parts to Ottawa. He is believed to be from Toronto and to have repeatedly used aliases and changed his name over the years.

His new name, Luka Rocco Magnotta, has a prolific presence in the darkest corners of the Internet. For nearly two years, it has been notorious among animal-rights activists looking for a man who tortured and killed cats and posted videos of it online. (包含幾段新聞片：看片)

【CP24】French police say they're actively searching for a Canadian porn actor suspected of killing and dismembering his victim before sending out body parts in the mail.

A senior French police official says he is "sure" that Luka Rocco Magnotta is currently in France.

Another French police official says Magnotta apparently flew to Paris from Montreal last weekend.

The officials say France's fugitive search unit was ordered to hunt for Magnotta.

【CP24】A university student identified as the victim of a gruesome killing and dismemberment was described Friday by his boss as a model employee who never missed a shift，until his sudden disappearance last week.

Jun Lin was a responsible, polite cashier who was friendly with customers in a tough Montreal neighbourhood, said the owner of a convenience store.

The Concordia University student, who worked about 10 hours a week after being hired last August, minded the shop by himself.

Montreal police say Magnotta and Lin knew each other and believe the killing happened sometime overnight between last Thursday and Friday.

Lin, a native of China, was reported missing by an acquaintance on Tuesday -- the same day the torso was discovered outside Magnotta's apartment building.

Concordia said Lin was registered as an undergraduate student in the faculty of engineering and computer science.

The body parts arrived about an hour apart at two schools, a waterfront public school near Vancouver's popular Granville Island and a posh private boys school in the city's west side.

Police suggested those two destinations may have been random.

"There's no indication that any students and staff have been targeted at either school," Deputy Chief Warren Lemcke of the Vancouver police told reporters at a late afternoon news conference.

"This must have been a very, very traumatic incident for all involved at the schools that were involved in opening these packages."

The discoveries came several days after two similar packages were mailed to Ottawa containing another hand and foot. Police have said those body parts belonged to Chinese student Jun Lin, whose torso was found in a back alley in Montreal with the hands, feet and head removed.

Lin's death prompted an international manhunt for Magnotta, who was arrested in Berlin on Monday and is expected to be extradited to Canada.

In Vancouver, police said a human hand arrived at False Creek Elementary School around 1 p.m. About an hour later, a foot arrived at St. George's, the private boys school.

Lemcke had few details to offer, but said Vancouver investigators were talking to their counterparts in Montreal.

The international manhunt for Magnotta ended with Monday's arrest after he was recognized inside the Berlin cafe, where he was reading online news articles about himself.

我自問是政治的初哥，也是民主的初學者，只知道憑選票，去行使民主，也就認為這就是民主，民主就是咁簡單啫！

人民日報：
從來就沒有抽象的、超階級的、超歷史的、永恆的、普世的民主。

【AM730】總理溫家寶今年3月曾公開強調，中國要發展基層民主，保障人民行使民主權利，言猶在耳，官方報章《人民日報》昨日發表評論員文章，指世上從來沒有「抽象而普世的民主」，西方式資本主義社會所創造的「民主」，是以少數人統治多數人為前提的民主，是虛偽和具欺騙性。

中國實行的「社會主義民主」才是廣泛的「民主」。有時事評論員指出，黨報宣揚的才是中央的「思想核心」，溫總提出的政改，只是對外宣傳的「策略技巧」，不應對內地政改存有幻想。

《人民日報》昨發表題為「甚麼是科學的民主」評論員文章，首先指出，無論在中國還是西方社會，民主都是一個重大而敏感的理論與現實問題，當中涉及國家政治制度、組織形式，以及民主價值觀等3個層次內涵。文章強調，「從來就沒有抽象的、超階級的、超歷史的、永恆的、普世的民主。」

文章指，在西方資本主義社會，資產階級創造的「資產階級民主」，「從一開始就是少數人的民主」，是以少數人統治多數人，並保護其經濟利益為前提的民主，「具有局限性、有限性、反動性、虛偽性和欺騙性。」

文章強調，「中國社會主義」實行的民主才是真正廣泛的民主，它建基在「社會主義公有制」，並以「民主集中制」作為組織基礎，能充分代表無產階級和勞動階層，而中國共產黨不斷把民主集中制具體化和制度化，是社會主義民主政治的成功實踐。

不過，溫家寶早前在國內外曾多次提出中國必須進行政治體制改革，他在今年人大會議記者會上曾警告，中國需要進行黨和國家領導制度的改革，若政改不成功，文革的歷史悲劇可能會再發生。

今年3月，他出席「全國民政會議」時亦指出，要健全基層民主制度，保障人民依法直接行使民主權利。他早前在廣東考察期間，亦稱要保障農民選舉權利，做好村民自治和村委會村民直選，被視為支持廣東汕尾烏坎村委直選模式。

在2010年10月，他接受美國有線新聞網絡(CNN)專訪時強調，要在能力範圍內推動政改，更稱「風雨不倒、至死方休」。

評論員：外界不應對政改存幻想
對於《人民日報》提出「沒有普世民主」論，似與溫家寶提及的政改步伐不一，時事評論員劉銳紹指出，《人民日報》的說法才是中央一貫的論調，黨內多年來的說法一直如此。

而溫家寶多次對國內外提出政改的呼聲，是為了減少外界對中國政治改革的壓力。溫總的言論是中央高層的共識，黨政高層內部並不存在思想路線分歧。

劉銳紹補充，《人民日報》說法才是中國共產黨內的「思想核心」；溫家寶的對外言論僅為「策略技巧」，兩者並不衝突，黨內亦無分歧，外間毋須對中國政改存有幻想，以目前情況來看，內地並不存在政治改革的條件。

時事評論員潘小濤則表示，溫家寶自03年提出政改，在07至08年間，更曾就政改立場，撰文反駁反對聲音，反映中央高層內部對民主的理解，和政改步伐或有分歧，「《人民日報》可能代表其中(較保守)一派」，這次黨報的論調，可能是對溫家寶等改革派的回應。


嗜悲 一向學習五柳先生的不求甚解，每有會意即欣然忘食！ 以為最能體驗民主，就是 Universal Suffrage，有票投好過冇票投，不過世間上的投票，竟然會有等額選舉，和差額選舉之分。


既然是等額選舉，經過投票和自動當選的差別，是投票可以有白票，或是投棄權票，這個消極的方法發表意見，比起自動當選多了一些表態的效果。

因為勞資談判失敗，2011/12年度的 NBA 賽季，比平常的延遲開始。到了聖誕節才開打，每隊只對賽六十多場，就在五月初開始 Playoffs 季後賽。上次，NBA 勞資糾紛，是發生於 1998/99年賽季，馬刺 在較短常規賽季後的 Playoffs，奪得總冠軍，今次有冇機呢？

FIRST ROUND

第一圈 東岸戰線 2-2-1-1-1

第一名 Chicago Bulls 紐約公牛 2
第八名 Philadelphia 76ers 費城七十六人 4
因為公牛主將 戴力羅斯 Derrick Rose 長期受傷患困擾，雖然得到第一名雋級，可惜在第一場的季後賽 羅斯 便受到重傷，ACL 十字韌帶撕裂，不能夠再比賽，宣告今季緣盡。加上另一公牛主將，中鋒 路亞 Joakim Noah 又嚴重扭傷腳眼位置，需要退下火線。卒之，經過六仗後，只得以 2-4 勝場輸了給七六人，宣告出局。是 NBA 史上第五次，頭號種子輸了給八號種子，也成為今季季後賽所爆的第一個大冷門。


第二名 Miami Heat 邁阿密熱火 4
第七名 New York Knicks 紐約尼克 1
林書豪 的膝部手術，本來已緣盡季後賽。但另二位控衛， Iman Shumpert 又在季後賽中撕裂十字韌帶，Baron Davis 扭傷膝蓋，經過四仗落後 1-3時，有傳 林書豪 將會勉強上陣打救 尼克隊，但 林書豪 感覺極之不妥，作出明智選擇，最後一仗沒有勉強上陣。最後，沒有了手掌受傷的 Amar'e Stoudemire，只得 Carmelo Anthony 獨力支撐進攻，和只得 Tyson Chandler 主力防守的 New York Knicks，並沒有機會反勝，擁有三王：Chris Bosh，Dwyane Wade，和 LeBron James 的 邁阿密熱火隊，4-1賽果正常而已。


第三名 Indiana Pacers 印第安納溜馬 4
第六名 Orlando Magic 奧蘭多魔術 1
魔術的明星中鋒 Dwight Howard 臨季尾受傷，需要動手術，故未能參加季後賽，溜馬隊無驚無險，就以 4-1 殺退了 魔術隊，雋級第二圈。


第四名 Boston Celtics 波士頓塞爾特人 4
第五名 Atlanta Hawks 阿特蘭大鷹隊 2
本來 鷹隊 才是第四名的，但 塞爾特人隊 是東北賽區的首名，所以依章程成為第四名，把 鷹隊 推落第五，但因為成績較優勝，在七場主客2-2-1-1-1制中，卻互換主客的安排了。不過，塞爾特人技勝一籌，只需六場就把 鷹隊 殺下季後賽。還有，塞爾特人三老回春，加上控衛 Rajon Rondo 停不了的大三雙，有希望可以在東岸決賽，和 熱火隊 來個精彩對碰。

由於較短的賽季，馬刺隊中的老人家 Tim Duncan 和 Manu Ginobili 都保養得甚佳，加上當打的 Tony Parker，無風無浪，4-0 swept 橫掃了 爵士隊出局。

第七名 Dallas Mavericks 達拉斯小牛 0
上屆 NBA 總冠軍 Dallas Mavericks 慘被 雷霆 0-4 橫掃 swept out 出局，是 NBA 史上少有的第五次，衛冕冠軍輸掉 0-4。 Mavericks 班主 Mark Cuban 在完成霸業後，放走了功臣：Tyson Chandler，Jose Juan Barea，和 DeShawn Stevenson 後，本來打算羅致 Deron Williams 和 Dwight Howard，可惜算盤打不響，反而只能從湖人換來 Lamar Odom，和找來已經飛不起的飛人 卡達 Vince Carter，以致實力下降，加上原來的：德國搶 Dirk Nowitzki 怒溫斯基，和日走下坡的 傑特 Jason Kidd，馬利安 Shawn Marion，勉強去支撐球隊，種下敗因。



第三名 LA Lakers 洛杉磯湖人 4
第六名 Denver Nuggets 丹佛金塊 3
擁有小飛俠 Kobe Bryant 的湖人曾經領先三比一，但卻未能埋齋，更被 金塊 追至 3-3，需要比戰至第七場。湖人值主場之利，終於在系列中以 4-3 險勝，雋級下一圈。


第四名 Memphis Grizzlies 孟菲斯灰熊 3
第五名 LA Clippers 洛杉磯快艇 4
打得燦爛的系列，擁有 CP3 基斯保羅 Chris Paul 和 入樽王 格芬 Blake Griffin 的 快艇，也是曾經領先三比一，但卻被 灰熊 從後追至 3-3，第七場在孟菲斯比賽。雙方注重防守，進入膠着狀態，洛杉磯快艇客場 82-72，掃走灰熊，雋級第二圈。


準決賽 SEMIFINALS

第二圈 東岸 Conference Semifinals 2-2-1-1-1

第二名 Miami Heat 邁阿密熱火 4
第三名 Indiana Pacers 印第安納溜馬 2
因為 Chris Bosh 第一仗腹部受傷，不知何日可以復出，三王少了一個，現在才知道被譏笑為半王的 保殊 的重要性，失去 Bosh 熱火內線軟弱，又加上 Wade 和 James 的失準，先勝一場的 熱火，結果接連輸回兩仗給 溜馬，變成 1-2 落後，若在多輸一場，成為 1-3 就真是神仙都救不到。幸好，第四仗 韋迪 和 勒邦占士 及時復甦，兩人共取 70分勝回一仗成 2-2，重新開始過再闘。最後，熱火 連勝兩仗 4-2，六場就淘汰了 溜馬，進入 東岸決賽。


第四名 Boston Celtics 波士頓塞爾特人 4
第八名 Philadelphia 76ers 費城七十六人 3
四仗之後，塞成 2-2，再闘下去會不利 波士頓塞爾特人 的三老，恐怕體力不支。第五仗 波士頓主場勝 101-85，第六仗 七十六人主場勝 82-75，需要打第七場生死戰，由 波士頓 主場。波士頓三老上一圈打足六場，今次捱足七場，就算贏了，都很難面對 邁阿密熱火。結果，三老加上 朗度，憑經驗闖過了第七關，進入東岸決賽。

一共比賽了13場的 塞爾特人，將會面對 三王的 熱火，不過被譏為半王的 Bosh，仍然未能出賽，但是看來 塞爾特人 是沒法再進一步了，TVB 直播的評述員還估計 Celtics 輸 1-4 Heat，即是只可偷雞一場，第五場就被 熱火 解決了。



第二圈 西岸 Conference Semifinals 2-2-1-1-1

第一名 San Antonio Spurs 聖安東尼奧馬刺 4
第五名 LA Clippers 洛杉磯快艇 0
快艇 上一圈對着 灰熊 要打足七場，疲乏不堪才勉強入到次圈，馬刺 卻只需四場便掃走 爵士，可以以逸待勞。馬刺 輕易以 4-0 橫掃了 快艇 出局。需要知道 洛杉磯 有冰球的 LA Kings 入到季後賽，加埋 快艇 和 湖人，一共三隊要用 Staples Center 做主場。編排賽期攪到大頭佛，故此出現 快艇 和 湖人，都要 Back to Back 背靠背，兩日打兩場比賽，而對手卻是以逸待勞的 馬刺。於是 馬刺 輕易進入 西岸決賽。


第二名 Oklahoma City Thunder 奧克拉荷馬城雷霆 4
第三名 LA Lakers 洛杉磯湖人 1
同樣是要在上一圈 湖人 對 金塊，湖人要打足七場，先輸給作客 雷霆 兩仗，回到主場勉強攀會一場勝仗後。可惜今次編排賽程，竟然要 Back to Back，兩日背靠背打兩仗，不利體力未能恢復的 湖人，被上圈只需要打四場就掃走 小牛 的 雷霆，又再多勝一場，落後 1-3 的 湖人 危矣！要看 高比拜仁 能否再做救世主了。完了，第五仗 湖人 主場 Staples Center，都輸埋 90-106 給 雷霆，並且大距離 16分落敗，可以提早休季，雷霆 進入 西岸決賽。


題外話：洛杉磯 本來有 NBA 的 湖人 和 快艇，NHL 的 Kings 都入了季後賽 playoffs，整個城市沸騰起來。隨著 Lakers 和 Clippers 出局，只剩下 Kings 一路奇兵，繼續令 洛杉磯 Staples Center 熱鬧起來。

因為本來剛剛可以入圍 NHL playoffs 的 LA Kings，以西岸第八名次完成常規賽，LA Kings 國王隊竟然殺到入 Stanley Cup 總決賽，將會以冠軍代表西岸 對 東岸冠軍 新澤西魔鬼 New Jersey Devils（東岸第六）。美國時間下週三，先舉行總決賽的第一場，由 NJD 主場對 LAK！

【維基百科】Robin Gibb, CBE (22 December 1949 – 20 May 2012) was a British singer and songwriter. He was best known as a member of the Bee Gees, co-founded with his fraternal twin brother Maurice and older brother Barry. He had another younger brother, Andy Gibb, who was also a very popular solo singer.

Born in the Isle of Man to English parents, the family later moved to Manchester before settling in Brisbane, Australia.

Gibb began his career as part of the family trio and when the group found their first success they returned to the United Kingdom where they achieved worldwide fame.

In 2004, the Bee Gees received their CBEs from the Prince of Wales at Buckingham Palace for their "contribution to music". With record sales estimated in excess of 200 million units, the Bee Gees became one of the most successful pop groups of all time.

Music historian Paul Gambaccini described Gibb as "one of the major figures in the history of British music" and "one of the best white soul voices ever".

After a career spanning six decades, Gibb last performed on stage in February 2012 supporting injured British servicemen and women at a charity concert at the London Palladium.

On 20 May 2012, Gibb died at the age of 62 from colorectal cancer.
