“During a visit to a mental hospital before I left Hong Kong, a patient politely asked me how a country that prided itself on being the oldest democracy in the world had come to be handing over his city to another country with a very different system of government, without either consulting the citizens or giving them the prospect of democracy to safeguard their future. Strange, said one of my aides, that the man with the sanest question in Hong Kong is in a mental hospital.”Chris Patten Financial Times

新鮮人 said...

The Inner Space said...

The Inner Space said...

The Inner Space said...

新鮮人 said...

The Inner Space said...

The Inner Space said...

新鮮人 said...

The Inner Space said...

The Inner Space said...

Space suggested that I read his achive. I did and I found the conversation here hilarious. You guys are too funny.

Besides the Fireboat Alexander Grantham Museum and Wet-land Park, any must-see suggestions?~

Exile, Freshdesigner is versatile, He can be formal and professional on the other hand he can be casual and sarcastic.

furthermore, Exile, I am living in HK, everything is too familiar. But my cousin who came back after 30 years in the states found that the HK Museum of History (next to Science Museum Tsimshatsui Area) most interesting and met his nostalgia. The Heritage Museum at Taiwai (near Shatin) the most boring.

Thanks for the HK Museum link. It's handy.

Museum of History is wonderful. I was in tears at the end of the visit four years ago. Silly me.

the inner space said...

eh! so Exile you knew more than me about the Museum of History. I were never been there b4 so I should arrange to take a Wednesday off becoz I heard every Wednesday free entry.

Have you been to the Museum of Coastal Defense? It was interesting too. I stayed until they closed. I remember it was raining heavily that day and it was quite a long walk back to the Shaukiwan tram station. Yeah, I took advantage of the free day too.

the inner space said...

Exile, No I never been there yet, even after viewing the HK Govt web site I don't know how to get there by foot. There they only gave the driving direction. You were extremely smart to find the route by walking to the Museum from Shaukeiwan Tram Terminus.
